How Quiz129 collects, uses and protects your data — in plain language, aligned with India's DPDP Act, 2023.
This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information Quiz129 collects from students, teachers and schools, why we collect it, how we keep it safe, and the choices and rights you have. We built Quiz129 for learners in Class 1 to Class 10 across India, so we take the privacy of children and families seriously. This policy is aligned with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act").

Here is the short version, so you do not have to read every line to understand what matters most:
- We collect only what we need to run a learning platform: your account details, optional profile details, your learning activity, and basic technical data.
- We use your data to teach better, to personalise practice, to issue and verify certificates, and to keep your account secure.
- We do not sell personal data, and we do not run behavioural advertising or ad targeting on children.
- You can export your data at any time and you can ask us to delete your account.
- Parents, guardians and schools can help manage a student's account and request access or deletion on the student's behalf.
Data we collect
We collect information in a few clear categories. We try to keep this list complete and honest so you always know what is held.

For teachers and schools, we additionally hold the information needed to manage classes, quizzes and student groups linked to that account.
How we use your data
We use the data above for clear, limited purposes:
- Provide and personalise learning — running quizzes, adaptive practice, study plans, and gap analysis tailored to your progress.
- Issue and verify certificates — generating certificates you earn and letting them be verified as genuine.
- Run leaderboards and championships — calculating ranks, ratings and championship results.
- Process payments and payouts — handling Premium membership and championship prize payouts via UPI through our payment partners.
- Keep accounts secure — protecting against unauthorised access, fraud and abuse.
- Improve the service — understanding what works, fixing problems, and building better learning tools.
We rely on your consent and on the legitimate, specified purposes described here, in line with the DPDP Act. Where the law requires consent (including a parent or guardian's consent for a child), we ask for it.
Children & guardians
Quiz129 is built for students, many of whom are minors in Class 1 to Class 10. We expect that students use the platform with the involvement of a parent, guardian or school.
- Parents, guardians and schools can help create and manage a student's account, review activity, and request access or deletion of the student's data.
- We do not sell children's personal data.
- We do not use children's data for behavioural advertising or ad targeting, and we do not profile children in ways that could harm their wellbeing.
- We collect only what is needed for learning, and we apply the protections required under the DPDP Act for the personal data of children.

Cookies & similar technology
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them in three simple ways:

You can control or clear cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop core features like login from working.
Payments & prize payouts
Premium membership and paid championships are handled through trusted payment partners.
- We do not store your full card details. Card and bank processing is handled by the payment partner.
- Championship prize payouts are made via UPI, using the payout details you provide for that purpose.
- We keep records of transactions (such as plan, amount and status) needed to provide the service, support you, and meet legal and tax obligations.
How we share data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only where it is necessary to run the service, and only to the extent needed:
- Service providers — for example payment and payout partners and hosting infrastructure, who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
- Your school or teacher — where you joined through a school or class, relevant learning activity may be visible to that school or teacher.
- Public features you choose to use — leaderboards and certificate verification show limited information (such as a display name and rank/score) by design.
- Legal reasons — where we are required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of users and the platform.
Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including:
- Storing passwords as secure hashes rather than plain text.
- Applying access controls so that data is reached only by those who need it.
- Using a secure, unified login across students, teachers and schools.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active and for as long as we need it to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. If you ask us to delete your account, we will erase or anonymise your personal data, except where we must retain certain records (for example, for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons).
Your rights & choices
In line with the DPDP Act, you have the following rights over your personal data:
- Access — know what personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — fix data that is wrong or out of date.
- Export — download a copy of your data at any time using the data export feature.
- Deletion / erasure — ask us to delete your account and personal data.
- Withdraw consent — change your mind about consent you previously gave (this will not affect processing already carried out).
- Grievance redressal — raise a concern and have it addressed (see below).
For children's accounts, a parent, guardian or school may exercise these rights on the student's behalf.

Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the platform and the law evolve. When we make significant changes, we will update the date shown above and, where appropriate, notify you. Please review this page periodically so you stay informed.
