Children’s Privacy

Quiz129 is used by school students, including children under 13. This page explains — in plain language — what we collect from a child, why, who can see it, and what a parent or guardian can do about it. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy; where the two differ for a child's account, this page applies.

The short version

• We collect the least we need to run a learning service and keep it safe.
• We do not show third-party advertising to students.
• We do not sell or rent a child's personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
• A parent or guardian can see, correct, export or delete their child's data at any time by writing to support@quiz129.com.

Who may hold an account

An account for a child under 13 is expected to be created and overseen by a parent, guardian, teacher or school. Where a school or tuition centre enrols a class, the school is responsible for informing parents and for having the consent it needs before adding a child.

A guardian can be linked to a student account. A linked guardian can set a guardian PIN, receive activity summaries, and be alerted when the account is used from a new device.

What we collect from a student

Class, school, board and (optionally) city or state	To show the right syllabus and questions for the child's year.
Date of birth or age, where provided	To apply age-appropriate settings and safety protections.
Guardian name, email and phone, where provided	To link a guardian, send summaries, and contact an adult if a safety concern arises.
Quiz answers, scores, streaks and progress	This is the service itself — it is what produces progress, mastery and certificates.
Text a student types into shared features	Reflections, feedback and peer messages are screened automatically for safety before anyone else can see them.
Questions a student types to the AI study helper	To answer them. This is an optional feature — a student who never opens it never sends anything. What they type is sent to an external AI provider to generate the reply, and the conversation is kept on the account so it can be revisited.
Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, sign-in times	Security only — to detect a hijacked session, block automated attacks and alert a guardian to an unrecognised device.
Payment details, only if a paid membership is bought	Handled by our payment provider. We never see or store full card numbers.

What we do not do

• No third-party advertising is shown to students.
• No selling, renting or trading of personal information.
• No use of a child's work or conversations to train anyone's AI models.
• No advertising or tracking profiles built from a child's activity.
• No public exposure of a child by default — a student controls whether they appear on leaderboards or achiever lists, and those settings can be turned off.
• No unmoderated contact between children. Peer encouragement uses preset messages only, is limited to classmates, and is rate-limited.

How we keep children safe

• Content screening. Questions and student-written text are screened automatically; anything flagged is withheld and reviewed.
• Name shield. Personal details a child types into shared places are detected and withheld.
• Crisis routing. Text suggesting a child may be at risk of harm triggers a helpline message and, where a guardian is linked, an alert to that guardian.
• Guardian controls. Screen-time limits, quiet hours and a guardian PIN are available on a child's account.
• Safety checks on AI conversations. What a child types to the AI helper is screened for signs of distress or grooming, and where a guardian is linked they are alerted if something serious is detected.
• Session protection. Sessions are tied to the device that created them and end automatically when idle, so a shared or lost device does not leave an account open.

Who can see a child's information

• The student.
• A linked parent or guardian.
• Their teacher and school, where the child was enrolled by a school or tuition centre — limited to that school's own students.
• Our staff, only where needed to support or protect the account, and access is logged.
• An AI provider, but only for the optional AI study helper and only for the text a student chooses to type into it. That text is sent to the provider to generate a reply. We do not send the child's name, email address or school with it. If you would rather your child did not use this feature, write to us and we will disable it on the account.
• Service providers that run the platform (hosting, email delivery, payment processing) under contract, and only for those purposes.

We disclose information outside this list only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect a child from harm.

How long we keep it

While the account is active. When a child's account is deleted, personal details are removed and any records kept for legal or audit reasons are held for no more than 3 months and then deleted — deliberately shorter than the 6-month period that applies to adult accounts.

Parent and guardian rights

A parent or guardian may, at any time and free of charge:

• ask what personal information we hold about their child;
• obtain a copy of it;
• have anything inaccurate corrected;
• have the account and its data deleted;
• withdraw consent and stop further collection.

Write to support@quiz129.com from an address we can reasonably connect to the account, or use the privacy tools inside the signed-in account. We respond within 30 days. We may need to verify that the request genuinely comes from the child's parent or guardian before we act — that check protects the child.

Changes

If we change what we collect from children or how we use it, we will update this page and, where the change is significant, tell account holders and linked guardians directly.
